Hello there! I’m Zoe, the woman behind the blog who also has a big old stash of yarn and a ton of passion for crafting with said yarn.
When I was a teenager, a friend at the time teased me about being “zavvy,” as opposed to savvy, since my initials are Z-A-V. The nickname, if that’s what you want to call it, stuck with me for years, and it felt completely natural to use it as part of my shop name and online presence.
As a child, I learned basic crochet skills from my grandmother. I liked it immediately and I have always appreciated those who were able to make anything by hand, particularly with yarn or thread. My interest in crochet lay dormant for over twenty years when I picked it up again in late 2013 on a whim.
In 2014, I was full steam ahead on reading and watching everything I could, buying lots of yarn, and figuring out what works and what doesn’t. My self-education is a never-ending journey.
At present, I have combined my passion for crochet (and as of 2017, knitting) with my entrepreneurial nature and Zavvy Creations was born as an Etsy shop. A Facebook page, an Instagram account, and this website followed. Thanks for reading!
